Garden & Terrace Spaces

Overview

Welcome to one of the many natural spaces here at MarinHealth Medical Center. Our gardens and other outdoor areas play a very important role in creating a healing environment for our patients, their families, and anyone else who comes through our doors. Like everything in the Oak Pavilion, they have been specially designed to maximize natural sunlight, which has proven to promote patient recovery and overall health. Many of these areas provide an additional healing space for families to meet with each other or with their care teams. Enjoy the serenity and natural environments that our healing gardens have to offer.

Our new operating suites provide amazing flexibility and enable seamless collaboration for our surgical experts. The suites are extremely spacious, allowing plenty of room for teams to move freely, and for complex equipment to be housed conveniently and securely. Built-in ceiling booms hold sophisticated instruments and technology so it’s ready when needed. Everything is movable so rooms can be assembled into various configurations, based on the procedure and team. “We feel immensely grateful to call Marin County home. My mother was taken care of at Marin General after her stroke as was our son who had 2 seizures. Our gratitude grew with each experience and it has become increasingly apparent that a first-class hospital like MarinHealth is a gift and a privilege. We should do all we can to facilitate its growth and excellence and above all assist in serving all its community members.”

Maternity Care

Overview

Our Maternity Care unit is spectacular  luxurious and spacious, it’s appointed with everything moms-to-be need to have their baby their way. Our teams are renowned for their expertise and patient friendly manner, and our new surroundings provide an equally impressive environment to bring babies into the world. The unit is designed so moms can stay in one room for all stages of the birth  Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP). Natural light streams in from large windows, and there’s ample space for caregivers and loved ones alike.

We provide the ONLY comprehensive maternity care program in Marin County and we are designated as a “Baby-Friendly” hospital, sponsored by the United Nations International Children’s Fund and the World Health Organization. This initiative recognizes hospitals/birth centers that offer an optimal level of care for breastfeeding. We are proud to be one of only 414 US hospitals and birth centers (out of more than 6,000) to hold this status.

Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) & Maternity OR

Overview

We are fully prepared to take on complex care for all but the most fragile newborns. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital experts are on site to help bring high-risk pregnancies to term and help care for newborns with health issues in our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The NICU is staffed around-the-clock with an in-house pediatric hospitalist who specializes in neonatology (the care of newborns). The care team also collaborates with the infant’s private physician and consults with the UCSF Benioff Neonatology team 24/7.

Our new Maternity Care department also includes two well-equipped operating rooms (ORs), and expert surgical staff is available and at the ready, 24/7. The ORs are spacious enough for specialists to move freely and collaborate on care, and most technology and equipment is suspended from ceiling booms for easy access.

Our nursing team is comprised of dedicated obstetric and neonatal nurses, specially trained to support both natural childbirth and high-risk deliveries. Thanks to this highly trained team, our cesarean section rates are very low.

Private Patient Rooms

Overview

One of the main pillars of the Oak Pavilion design was our desire to create a truly “patient-friendly” space. Our new private patient rooms reflect best-practices design to ensure that patients receive efficient medical attention in a transformative space that helps heal body, mind, and spirit. Each room is airy and spacious, including multiple “zones” that give ample space for patients, care teams, and visitors.
